AUGUSTA, Maine – The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) is today issuing a health and safety recall for one strain of adult use cannabis flower and three strains of adult use pre-rolls produced by Cannabis Cured. The products were sold at eight adult use retail stores located in Bangor, Carrabassett Valley, Damariscotta, Eliot, Fairfield, Stratton, Thomaston, and Northport. Pursuant to an investigation into irregular mandatory test results reported to OCP, the products are being recalled due to failure of Yeast and Mold audit testing conducted by the Office.
Inhaling cannabis containing unsafe levels of mold can lead to sinus issues, allergies, headaches, dizziness, or fatigue. Consumers who purchased these products should return them to the retailer or dispose of them. Any consumer who has ingested these products and is experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions should contact their physician immediately.
All adult use cannabis is required to have a label affixed to the package that indicates the product’s batch number. Consumers should check the label of their cannabis flower or pre-rolls for the batch numbers listed below under “Product Information”.
This recall affects the following products sold in Maine between August 27, 2024, and September 9, 2024, at the following adult use retail store locations:

Additional information about this recall is available at https://www.maine.gov/dafs/ocp/recalls/cannabis-cured-9-2024.
This recall, the first issued by the Office since the launch of the Adult Use Cannabis Program in 2020, was made possible due to the testing and tracking requirements of the program and the Office’s commitment to ongoing rigorous review of mandatory test results. Because of the work of OCP’s chemist, the Office was able to quickly identify the testing irregularity and begin its investigation, including taking and testing samples from affected batches. The detailed information contained in the State’s cannabis inventory tracking system allowed OCP to put an administrative hold on items during the pendency of its investigation and ensure that the recall is narrowly tailored to target only those items that include contaminated cannabis.
