The Southern Maine Women’s Reentry Center, located in Windham, is a minimum security/pre-release facility with a capacity of 100 adult female residents. The facility’s capacity (number of beds) may vary from time to time. Also, the actual number of residents in the facility may be fewer than the capacity. Residents residing there have five years or less left on their sentence. Programs and services include education (basic and higher education), substance use disorder treatment, cognitive-behavioral classes, community restitution projects, and the ability to participate in a community work release program.
