The following list contains information about MDOC programming, including degree- and certificate-programs as well as apprenticeships.

Adult Basic Education/HiSET Preparation

HiSET Programming

Residents can earn a High School Equivalency Diploma.

College Preparation

College Programming

Residents can earn an Associate’s, Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in a variety of majors including Liberal Studies, Health and Human Services, Business, etc.

Residents can earn certificates in:

• IC3 Digital Literacy
• Manufacturing and Production Technology
• Entrepreneurship and Business Studies

Micro-credentials

Residents learn a set of competencies, demonstrate a specific skill or skills and earn a badge or micro-credential that becomes part of their digital file.

Tablets

Recognizing the positive impact technology has in preparing residents for return to their communities, MDOC partnered with the correctional tablet company, Edovo, in 2018 to provide access to over 700 tablets.

Edovo’s tablet platform allows residents to access free educational programming, free job-training programs and evidence-based rehabilitation.

• Some examples of available programming are: CISCO Networking, ServSafe, Customer Service, Resume Building, and Automotive (basic and advanced).

The tablets provide an opportunity to upload employer-specific training materials and programming.
