The Human Resources Policy and Practices Manual is intended to provide general guidance with respect to practices and procedures which have developed regarding employment matters for Maine State Government in the context of the State of Maine Civil Services Rules, the various collective bargaining agreements, and the Civil Service Law. The manual is subject to frequent revision designed to reflect current policy and practices or to add new sections. Users are encouraged to consult the Bureau of Human Resources staff, agency human resource representatives, and/or appropriate bargaining agents regarding specific employment situations.
